Work Room - Week 14
Where's the Love, Work Room???
I have a feeling this is going to be another one of those topics where something just jumps out at you right away and drags you off with it, or where you will sit there for hours, cursing my name. Or at least a little longer than you normally spend on that daily routine.
What are some of the things that come into your brain when you hear that word? http://therealljidol.livejournal.com/528117.html What images? Where does it take you?
Also worth thinking about - how have you been doing the last couple of weeks of Idol? Have you been happy with the reception your entries have been getting? If not, have you been soliciting feedback on how to improve? Have you been giving other people the same kind of pointers?
it's your Work Room. Make the most out of it.

Round four was a normal vote, where everybody could vote.
The open topic was a members only vote.
That to me, says you've got fans that like you and vote for you, but might not be members of the LJI group, and not willing to go through the hassle to do it.
If this is your first year (sorry, so bad with names and identities), then you probably have built a bigger fanbase in your normal journalling, while someone who has been around some time might already have gotten their friends into this thing, and has had more time to make connections.
My tip to you would be to check what type of vote it is. If it is a community only, make a post about that on the journal, explain what it is, how to sign up, and other stuff. I know I did that during my first go at this, and it really helped a lot in the long run. Things are getting tighter now after all.

In each of the three previous seasons, I've been eliminated in a non-public vote (twice community-only, once contestant-only). Part of my goal this season was to *force* myself to be more social--posting in green rooms (even though I typically don't have much to say), commenting on entries, etc. It seems to have worked so far.
As for posting to my journal: I'd say about 75% of my FL doesn't really care about Idol. (And the 25% who do already know it's there). A few people would probably vote if I posted a link, but if I did it every week (as I tried during my first season), eventually people would get tired of it and it would lose its effectiveness. Thus, I only try to do so when it's *absolutely* necessary.
Thanks for the feedback!
