All very good points. Hell, can you imagine what FB would have been saying if it were around the first time Captain Kirk kissed Uhura or some other alien species? :-)
My personal feeling about the "exploitation" aspect of it is that there is no exploitation... if you sign up to be staged in the photo-op... and that photo-op is a groundbreaking sort of event like this, you are doing so with your eyes wide open. For better or worse, you *are* the poster child for that cause... in this case a "post-DADT world." And if you're not okay with it, you don't sign up for it in the first place. It is about as "exploitative" in my opnion, as somebody who goes on say... Survivor. You signed up for it knowing exactly what it is, so you can't cry "exploitation" later on down the line.
