I actually think my theory is spot on ;) I've seen it in general LJ stuff too. Sure, someone may post something super seekret to their FL every so often, but it's not the norm anymore compared to, say, 3-4 years ago.
With fiction, using the third person avoids any potential messiness that may abound if you were writing nonfiction and using your own life as the subject.
I think it's a shame. The less nonfiction, the less, I think, we really get to know one another. Your fiction may be a great read, but I know next to nothing about who wrote it. Do you know what I mean?
