Edit: Oh, a first!

Well in case I don't get another chance, I'm wishing Happy Moms'
Day to all the moms out there. Is it the same holiday day in other countries? Or do you all have a different date? AW

So what else is jumping out at you in a darkened room today?

We tried to elect a new government yesterday and failed in at least two respects!

I'm backpedaling fast to come up with a culturally appropriate response to finding out about the death of my next door neighbor's mother. We haven't been through the "family member of a real Swiss person" dying yet in our adventures here.

I did get a big primer on appropriate flowers and things to write on the card at the hairdresser's though.

Did Somebody Say Scary, Darkened Rooms?

They're what's jumping out at me today, darkened room or no. Clearly jumping up and hugging my legs as I pass is absolutely the best game ever, and if I should trip over them when they do so, that's entirely my fault.

At least if you ask them. Little brats! ;)

My train was delayed for half an hour this morning. So that kind of sucked. And now I have to cover the reception desk at work. So that also sucks.

Had a cranberry scone for breakfast. That didn't suck.

Little one fell asleep for a nap instead of lunch today (at 3 PM but we only got up at 10 AM ;)) so I sort of don't know what to do. We were planning on sowing some seeds on the balcony because she wants to know what happens but it looks like it might rain later on, so I think I'm going to make myself some lunch (after all it's 4 PM lol) and see what I can do.

I'm going to the doctor today, which is scary enough without things jumping out at me.

Interestingly, my daughter seems to be on the same wavelength with Gary this morning. She declared it "Halloween Day" and went to school in a Halloweeen tee shirt and black pants.

My mom should be coming home from the hospital today (fingers crossed). I got to see her last night and she seemed tired but relieved.

I jumped out at my son at breakfast, which resulted in a bowl of Cocoa Krispies (breakfast of champions, yo!) all over the floor! So I started my day mopping. :P

I will not have access to the poll tonight or tomorrow... would someone be willing to text me the results, or, better yet, save me at the last minute if I am on the verge of being eliminated??!?! :P

My teeth are hurting, which is not the way I wanted to start today. Graduation exercises are tomorrow, so I get to spend the morning outside in very hot and heavy robes. Since my department throws a breakfast for the graduates and their parents before graduation, I have to actually wear clothes beneath my robes. I just can't win.

My friend and I went walking yesterday and ended up losing track of time and found ourselves alone in a dark park in the city. Luckily, nothing jumped out at us and we will consider walking earlier in the day from now on.

But that's about it. My life is pretty lame at the moment. Nothing too scary to talk about for a change.

My evil cat!! He assaulted my toes and woke me up at least 5 times last night. *yawns*

This morning, in a too-bright room, I was assaulted by healthcare professionals who came at me with thermometers and scales and needles! I hate corporate-mandated biometric testing.

Gosh. I haven't been here in so long.

*waves*

*offers brownies and cookies as peace offering*

Nothing much is going on in my life at the moment, though, so you guys weren't missing much. :P

Jumping out at me today is possibly the most disorganized event I'll ever work on. There's a concert/one night only show tomorrow night to celebrate the Theater company's 40th anniversary and I got roped into stage managing. No one is officially in charge, the sound designer found out last night that the band is six pieces not three, and I've received three different revisions of the script this morning. I'm going with the 'I may as well fiddle while Rome burns' attitude we'll see if it gets me through our five hour rehearsal.

You know what jumped out at me? My cardigan. I was putting away my freshly-dried laundry (and got changed into my pajama pants at 5pm because they were so nice and warm!!) and one of the cardigans literally leapt out of the basket and clung to me! So then I tore it free and it zapped me with the most amazing static ever, and now my right pinky hurts :(

Jumping out at me is that fact that it's only 11 am... which means I have another 5 hours before I can flee this cubicle. Oh well... at least it's fairly mellow today, which is nice since it's been chaos all week. :-)

Planning on catching Ironman 2 this weekend. Looking forward to that. And it has nothing to do with a redheaded Scarlett Jo... so just get that thought right out of your minds! :-)

Hope everybody has a great Friday and a fantastic weekend!!!

Nothing jumps out at me at the moment, but I think my puppy is planning his attack for later, which seems to be his MO lately.

Last night he decided to skip the middleman and just tug on my hand when he wanted to play. Nothing broken, not even skin, but he refused to let go until my husband offered an alternative plaything. Trying to get my husband's attention was rather difficult, as he was engrossed in a Mythbusters episode.

The policy has been to ignore him if he is doing something inappropriate, so that I don't reward negative behavior with negative attention.

This works great most of the time... until my puppy decides that he has to go to extremes to get my attention. My right hand is still noticeably swollen today, but he is also much better behaved, so I am trying to make sure he doesn't get too bored.

ETA: Congrat's GratefulAddict on your immunity!

This might be unclear to some of you young people, but it was recently driven home to me how true it is. I promise to never forget it again.

Indeed, my friends, The Humpty Dance is your chance to do the hump (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cj9_yW8tZxs).

Three cats, four children and the mouse we first saw last week is still randomly jumping out at us. He's absolutely tiny but is somehow managing to evade capture and feed himself. Since I've had pet rodents for years, it's not scary but it *is* disconcerting.

Hi.

Sorry for being so sparse (really, can a *person* really be sparse) lately. I've flown out to the middle of nowhere with the bf for his graduation from online school. As such, net-usage is limited.

I have read and voted though and hope to get back in the swing of commenting soon.

Corn.
