Thank you to the gatekeepers! Especially those who've posted explanations (for want of better word) in their LJs - those are always interesting to read.

Open topics are always intimidating to me, because while I love writing, I suck at thinking up a topic. I guess that's one of the reasons why I stick to writing non-fiction - my imagination is crap ;) However, this time it jumped at me, and I'm happy with what I wrote - and would have remained so, even if the gatekeepers hadn't let me through. At least I'd have gone out with what I would have considered "a bang" :)
