I actually had four firsts before I thought to track the community. I had tracked individual posts in the community before, but it had't dawned on me to track the whole community. Sometimes I just click on my friends list at the right time.

... Out of curiosity... are you doing the text next to the buttons for the sake of people with screen readers?

'cause I'm 90% certain that if that's the reason, you could also do this!

That SHOULD make the image not be read as "image" but as whatever the explanation text is(try to keep it short and specific -- i use more for images on my LJ, but generally the idea is the KISS[keep it simple stupid] principle of usability professionals) , if I'm remembering the whole speech my professor gave on "the importance of alt text for accessibility".

Yeah I'm an XHTML 1.0 geek.

I was a CS major, and I used to code web designs for a living for a marketing company. We were HORRIBLE at accessible design then. I provided all the underlying logic code, but the people who made decisions further up cared about "impact" and not usability.

I cut and paste from a spreadsheet which identifies which icon I am copying into the comment. I don't want to assume that the web browser someone is using is XHMTL 1.0 compliant, so I still try to include descriptive text with all my images (though I do forget).

It is appreciated, since some graphics, although, a lot are alt tagged, some graphics don't mean much ... trying to be descriptive as much as possible is easier to know, instead of hearing, "http... blah blah blah". or reading the long string of HTML code on my braille display as well.

Dude, we're in Vegas and I totally gave Penn Jillette a huge bear hug last night. Like, all cuddled up under his armpit bear hug! Then tonight we saw Stomp and I met the father of the little drummer from The Naked Brother's Band (which will thrill my 7 year old) and tomorrow we're seeing Cirque's "O"!

It's been fabulous but I miss my girls and wish the free topic was THIS WEEK!!!!

I tried to edit to brag that we're seeing the Bodies Exhibit but you'd already replied. I can't wait to see the fetus exhibit...but it may make me a little sad in that baby-wanting way, ya know?

That sounds fun too! We should be seeing something similar... LOL Such things make me want babies, too. One day...

I saw one of the bodies exhibit when it was here in DC - fascinating!

Did it have the fetus part? From what I hear, it's not always included and I haven't any idea if it's here.

This one had special exhibit about birth, but not the specific child-and-mother display.

I bet that was still awesome, though...and thanks for adding me. I've been meaning to add you for a while but just never did. Don't know why.

There are a lot of players that I am waiting to add me. I don't know why they haven't.

I stopped doing it after the first round or so when there was a comment made somewhere (not necessary to repeat it) that made me think twice.

Penn is just ohmyfriggenHUGE, ain't he? The sad thing is, I'm even shorter than Teller, LOL!

Ya know, Teller is about 5'9" or so....I was surprised. I think it's just that Penn is just a giant. We didn't bring a cord for the camera or I'd already have photos posted EVERYWHERE.

The first time I went to Vegas, I had $200 cash in my pocket. I came home with the same amount in my pocket. I never once touched a debit or credit card. I spent about $1000. Yep, Vegas was good to me the first time.

The Naked Brother's dad is a genius. He's the one who pushed and made the kids become so huge. I think he directs the videos too and does sound recording on the albums. So as awesome as Penn is and the man is awesome (well, cept for that stint as host of that stupid guess the occupation show), but Michael Wolff is even cooler. He's both members of the Naked Brother's bands dad btw. He used to be the band leader for Arsenio Hall and plays the dad on the show.

Busman's Holiday today. Running around doing lots of errands. We've had a few flakes, but most of them have been behind the wheels.

Three trucks got stuck (not at the same time) under an infamous railroad bridge near the University on Monday causing havoc with the bus routes.

let's see what have I been up to?

(1) I finally showered this week! (my meds made me oversleep the past 2 days because I didn't go to bed at 10:30PM EST)

(2) I finally called in the work order request to get my room's window shade fixed. ._. My roommate knocked it down before thanksgiving break when she tried to close it half-way like we're supposed to.

(3) I'm in my compsci lab finishing my overdue financial analysis for accounting that I must turn in today before class if possible. XD

and let me guess, you are using Simply Accounting?

..If that's a book, no. XD It's a financial analysis of a computer manufacturing company for the final project in a college course entitled: Principles of Financial Accounting... which has been the only course this semester I'm in that I feel like I definitely know what the heck I'm doing, even if I AM behind. (I still haven't finished the paper... ._. going to finish it tomorrow cause I suck).

No, Simply Accounting is an accounting software on the computer.

nope no software in this class...only using Microsoft Excel 2007 for projects and a calculator in class. ._.

For those who are unaware, I am now safely ensconced behind a desktop. My laptop is off being cleaned up (and no you don't want to know how much that cost me!) Outlook messages, both ond and new are have been successfully imported, and the only things I'm lacking now are yahoo messenger and skype.

I have someone from my guide dog school coming today to work on a few issues Lou and I are having, and then I get to go shopping, wee! Itt's all online shopping, but still!

I'm still debating on whether or not to throw up my first idol post or combine the topic of giving thanks with the so vain thing. Or..., or..., or... :d

I'm off to the DMV today for try number 26079852 on getting driver's license. GA has really ridiculous requirements. I expected to have to show my last DL, lease and SSN card. I brought my military ID to serve as a backup if needed. Turns out I also needed a certified copy of my birth certificate, a certified copy of my divorce documents and certified copies of both my marriage licenses. What a PITA!

I don't know about anyone else, but I burned my first marriage license when the divorce was finalized. It was rather surreal having to get that one again.
