Soooo cooooold.

I need to turn on my heat. Need to get the furnace fixed, first. The blower fan broke last summer. A friend of mine offered to help pay for it, just need to make the call. Been procrastinating because I really don't want to borrow the money, but am really cold.

You should give your friend a call today. Barring that, maybe buy a small space heater? It's not a great solution, but it might help.

Though you do want to make sure your pipes don't burst, so calling your friend's probably the better option.

And no, I'm not sure when I turned into a mother figure. Sorry. :)

I've been dealing well with 50 degree nights. My cat huddles on my lap as soon as I get home to keep both of us warm. The cold helps me go to work.

There is even some sadistic little part of me hopes that the cold during the day while I'm in my warm office will help encourage my jobless roommate to find work.

But, you've put the image in my head of my pipes bursting at night. And, that's something I'm totally not ok with.

So, I took my friend up on his offer and called a repair company.

Mine broke a lot last year so we got several little space heaters. In my opionion they worked better then our gas heat, and was a lot cheaper.

Plus my dog loves to cuddle in front of one of them.
