For someone to go this deep into a mini season writing poetry is rare. For it to be someone to get this far doing that AND be a previous winner??? That takes someone special.

marlawentmad is definitely someone special. Losing her is a blow. 

There were definitely times during 3 Strikes that I thought she was going to be in the finale - despite how big of an uphill battle it was.

I'm just really glad that we got to enjoy so much of her work over the past 24 weeks. I hope to see more of it in the future!!

I am truly honored by that high praise coming from someone who has had the privilege of seeing so many talented writers come through these parts. Thank you for the vote of confidence and kind words. I am continuously grateful and mystified that my poetry has been welcomed and complimented. It means a lot to me, especially during those weeks when my heart is heavy and needs cleared out.
