You have been through a lot to get to this point.

But you haven't made this journey on your own.   There have been others who have helped you get where you are.  There are others who needed to be eliminated for you to get this far.

That is why the Rites of Passage exists.

Jeff Probst has said that modern fans don't like them.  He is wrong,  He thinks that there are "more important" things to showcase on the final episode.  Some people disagree. (including myself)

I think that taking the time to reflect on your journey is extremely important part of preparing for the final tribal council.

As the 3 of you walk down the path, you will encounter the torch of your fallen tribe mates.  Stop.  Reflect on what they have meant to you.  Move to the next one.

This is a special moment in time.

(I'm including a link to the YouTube selection of different US Rites of Passages from over first few seasons of the show)

(Note for everyone else, even if they are talking about you - this is ONLY for these 3.  You will have a chance to have your say at the Final Tribal Council)

The names (torches) start below.   Enjoy your walk through your memories of this special event in time.

minikin, I'll be honest - I wasn't really sure what to expect from you this season. You were one of the players that I also had no familiarity with coming into this game. With your first entry talking about being stuck in the Blah, I didn't have high hopes that you'd be able to pull it out. I know all about the Blah, and it sucks to be there. But you really surprised me! Your entries showed growth and improvement from week to week, and you offered a lot of much-needed support to all of us on Asaga, especially when we were down and out from challenge losses. I'm so proud of you and the work you've done this season; I hope you are, too, and I'd love to see you back in Idol again. :)

Minikin25, I only knew you a little from previous rounds of Idol. I liked the energy you brought to our team, and got such a kick out of your rambling-Grandma story (such terrific narrative style). You volunteered to leave us early on during an elimination round, based on how the votes for the team's stories had been trending, and I can't tell you how much I appreciated your honesty and attitude in doing what you thought was "best for the team" by nominating yourself to be sacrificed.

Not many people are able or willing to be so generous, and it made a hard situation less terrible. You mentioned wanting to see what Exile Island was all about, but we didn't get a report back from you! Was anything special going on there?

Oh, I almost forgot about minikin's attempted sacrifice. I know that was so early and there was confusion over whether we could vote for ourselves or not, but I remember seeing that on the journal and being both upset by the fact that she'd want to do that to herself but also touched by the fact that she'd have given up her chance to keep us going when we were so down and out. Pretty much everyone in this game has just been wonderful and supportive and not dragging other people down to get ahead; it was almost the opposite of what I expected to see and made for a very interesting game the whole time. Obviously I can't speak for anyone but me, but it really felt like I was just playing a game with a group of friends instead of everyone being cutthroat, which was really nice.

Minikin, you're another I didn't get to really spend any time with or get to know very well, but I do agree with gunwithoutmusic. Your entries just got better and better each week, and I always liked seeing what you came up with each week.

I also heard what you did for your tribe, and that is seriously amazing. I know I wouldn't have been able to offer to sacrifice myself, so I really admire you for doing so.

I also hope to see you in another season of Idol, because I would love to get to spend some time talking with you!
